How Apple is Winning the Battle for Education Technology (or is it?)

The following Infographic suggests the advances Apple has made in Education Technology. To be sure if pundits are correct the neck and neck race between Apple and Dell (2/3 down the infographic) will be won by Apple. The trend may continue as more students will use MACs and iPads to go along with their other Apple gadgets. I don’t believe MAC’s will overtake Dell but the gap will narrow

However, the information graphically presented ONLY ADDRESSES THE ‘FRONT END’ or CONSUMER aspect of the Cloud revolution. For example, BYOD necessitates greater security, increased server capacity and without a doubt – INTEGRATION between systems that reside on premise, in the [real] Cloud (multi – tenant), or at server farms.

So, from MY POINT OF VIEW – while Apple might get the attention as their products serve the student it is Dell that makes it all work together behind the scenes with its server business, integration (Dell Boomi) and other recent acquisitions as it builds its software capabilities.

Dell’s success is Apple’s success. Apple’s success is Dell’s success!!
